My wife´s computer, Dell Vostro 13, was a total mess in 2 years of using Windows 7 ( I don´t blame it on W7) - after installing/uninstalling all kind of programs (sometime by me;) The Registry is full of all kind of "bu..hit" and slowing it down.- etc....
Soon I will format the hard disk and reinstall W7 -to make it a "Virgin" again. (W7- og endurbatajómfrú (reyndar 7 ár)- skemmtileg tilviljun - eða hvað?;)
Few days ago; I found out MS is about to release their new W8 next autumn - The FREE Evalualation Preview System is to be found on MS homepage).

The New W8 Version Looks great; I love most of the improvements - I still have not found many negative things. It works great on a "regular laptop/desktop" however I think it will (at the moment) run best on a touch screen computer.
Warning - Please Don´t Install this Evaluation Unless YOU know What you are Doing - If You don't; You Might (Most Likely) Loose all Your Personal Data; Photos, letters, email etc..............
When you decide to go back to your old W7 - You must Reinstall W7 again from scratch from your original DVD disks Your data files will not be regained - as far as I know.
I MUST ADMIT, I HAD TO MAKE A - GOOGLE SEARCH- TO FIND OUT HOW TO SHUT DOWN THE THIS W8 BEAST :)
My Summary;
If you have W7 already running without problems, you should not buy W8 - (upgrade or stand alone). If you are in trouble - you might concider reinstall your old W7 - pls. don´t forget to backup all your old important files before you start.
If you are thinking about buying a new laptop you should wait to fall - (release date not confirmed).
